Euro Farm Foods
Sustainability
our commitments
Our “green” ethos is what drives us to constantly strive to increase efficiencies in our processes, reduce inputs while maintaining our high levels of quality product. The Euro Farm Foods factory is licenced by and operates under the regulation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Ireland.
Water
We also employ the latest technology to ensure we treat and monitor our wastewater to the highest environmental standards. This involves water testing by a reputable laboratory service provider all year round.
Energy
Euro Farm Foods invested in 500kW solar panels in 2022. PV panels were installed to generate energy from a 100% renewable source, reducing dependence on electrical supply from the grid. This project saves the company approximately 350,000 megawatt hours (MWh) per annum.
Livestock
Livestock is locally sourced to reduce travel emissions along with prioritising animal welfare. All staff who come into contact with animals must attend and attain the necessary competency at our animal welfare training sessions.
Emissions
Euro Farm Foods invested in an “EscoPod” system in 2018 which is a heat transfer system delivering hot water required in our production process in an environmentally efficient manner. This investment removed the need for fossil fuels to generate hot water and reduced our carbon emissions to ZERO, savings over 850 tonne per year.
